Heppenheim - Sarah & Andreas

It was Thursday 29th April and 29^oC, we'd taken a sweltering train from Frankfurt am Main to Heppenheim an der Bergstrasse, drunk our last drop of water at the station and then meandered up to our hotel within the old town to be greeted with this scene...

The Hotel Restaurant Goldener Engel is on the far right - the hotel staff are lovely and Brit friendly. We were still sat in the square hours after dinner soaking up the ambience:

But onto the main attraction! We are in this romantic place for a very special occasion - the wedding of Sarah and Andreas. For some they need no introduction. For others - here is the blushing bride:

A hop, skip and a jump into the adjacent Town Hall for the Anglo-German union. The service was very moving and full of sage advice for the newlyweds.

Finally Andreas can have another kiss! Look closely and you'll realise she's pinned him down - literally!

Sarah's dress was perfection. She chose the fabrics and designed it herself:

Time to cut a cake from the amazing array made by Andreas's extremely talented sister-in-law to complete the wedding breakfast:

And later onto the evening of revelry! Another feast of food and drink, ceilidh dancing to music provided by Amrysain and some fun and games for the new Mr and Mrs!
